Pink Ombre Wedding Inspiration

Updated: Dec 27, 2022

I am truly proud to share with you the details of this incredible Pink Ombre Wedding Inspiration bridal shoot working alongside some of the finest wedding suppliers right here on my wedding blog.

Two girls doing meditation at home

It was a real shock to be sought after by the lovely Natasha. who was the visionary, stylist and planner behind this beautifully curated bridal shoot.  In fact, I was so star struck when we spoke, that I could barely speak sasking only two questions about the details (which is rare for me as I often want to see all of the details and influences right up front).  But, something told me: "Just go with the flow, it's going to be OK".

And, I was right not to worry, as Natasha, alongside the talented photographer Maxeen Kim, were a force to be reckoned with.

Even after all this time in the industry, I still love the experience of working in bridal shoots and fashion shows because the creative energy and the magic of seeing someone’s dream evolve and take shape is unbelievable.  From seeing how others ingeniously apply their craft into transforming this incredible London Terrace House, with its' high ornate ceilings and stunning fireplaces into a wonderland of beauty."

The Story

Setting the scene & moving beyond the dream – takes weeks and weeks of planning, negotiating, revisiting and reshaping in order to achieve anything like what you can see here.  I’m  sharing this point purely

because of the huge quantities of stuff – I mean boxes upon boxes of stuff –  that arrive  at the venue on the day.  The only reference point that I can make to give you any real insight into this, is to imagine what it feels like to move house.  And yet, Natasha, was  unruffled cool,  calm and organized with organizing, directing and orchestrating towards her vision – with utmost precision.

.

We took over the entire top floor of Carlton House.  Every corner was filled with someone crafting away and fine tuning their contributing Pink Ombre Wedding products in readiness for when the shoot began.  Sometimes this be the first time many of us will get the chance to actually meet each other and put a face to the name that we have perhaps followed for months on social media.  But equally, there will be lovely moments of catching up with others who I have met & worked with before , which always help with settling down and feeling relaxed.

The Team

Even after all this time in the industry, I still love the experience of working in bridal shoots and fashion shows because the creative energy and the magic of seeing someone’s dream evolve and take shape is unbelievable.  From seeing how others ingeniously apply their craft into transforming this incredible London Terrace House, with its high ornate ceilings and stunning fireplaces into a wonderland of beauty.

The Florals

The fabulously talented Bilen, founder of Queen of Hearts Floral Design who I have had the pleasure of working with previously, created a masterful 10ft table runner built entirely from David Austin Roses; ,and which Bilen positioned in graduated shades of cream, light pink, lilac, fuchsia and purple roses.  Combining the colors created the flawless Pink Ombre Wedding Flower theme that became the centre of attention on the day!  To see it up close and to breathe the aromas was awe-inspiring

.

Above the fireplace, she styled foliage including honey bracelet, eucalyptus, and leather fern with delphinium, iris and lavender added, to add height and impact without competing against the features of the venue.  Blush roses as used in the table runner, were inserted at the bottom of the foliage to bring the whole look together.

The brides bouquet was bright and vibrant.  Made up of orange alstroemeria, peach gerbera daisy, large garden roses in shades of deep orange, purple dahlia and cala lilies.

The Dress

My vision for the shoot began with the venue.  I wanted to create a dress that was clean cut & immaculately tailored with a single wow factor.  I had several ideas as to what would take your breath away within such a beautiful venue – but then I hit a wall as I just couldn’t decide on how much detail would strike the right balance.

I normally start a design with a very specific woman in mind, light skinned, dark skinned, long hair, short etc, and I use all that information to determine the balance of details and volume that then is the dress.

I think the dress here speaks for itself.  However, there is so much to be said about the making of ANGELICA, that I will continue the story behind this dress (if you would like to know more) because it was designed  – or should I say re-designed – specifically for this shoot and so deserves a story all of its own...
